Chantal - EGM Corporate Services & Business Improvement
“As some of you may know, I am from South Africa, a country riddled with discrimination and inequality. So, for me the theme #inspireinclusion means breaking barriers and looking forward. Look not on what you were but what you can be. Opportunities are endless, embrace them and don’t inhibit your potential by listening to your own fears and negative thoughts. You are strong, You are powerful and You can do anything you want. There are no limits to what we, as women, can accomplish.”
Jennifer - Logistics Manager
“International Women’s Day is about giving women a voice and each time a woman stands up for herself she stands up for all women. As you speak up and share your experiences, you are also empowering more women to do the same and share their influences.”
Nioka - Machine Operator
“In my role, the theme of Inspire Inclusion means to be treated as an equal. It is important to be supported by my male coworkers in regard to my successes, mistakes and in everyday activities. In the warehouse no matter your gender we rally together to get work done.”
Rebecca - Branch Manager
“A dedication to Inspire Inclusion as we unite to learn, inspire, and promote inclusiveness for all. To embrace diverse perspectives while contributing to the success and performance of our organisation.”
Heather - Payroll Supervisor
“As a society, we should embrace all kinds of diversities and strive to empower everyone to reach their full potential and be awesome regardless of gender or background.”
Shaieisha - Machine Operator
“International Women’s Day is about being fair and supporting women in every role across every industry. To Inspire Inclusion is to always be willing to lend a helpful hand without judgement as well as to want and support each other at work.”
Mary - Administration Officer
“I find International Women’s day, and its global theme quite relevant to my particular position. We are a small team here in Hobart, of 5 people and I am the only female. All our staff are male, all our sub-contractors are male. All the builders we work with are male.
I have found that customers/builders are quite surprised that a female works in this position, and has acquired some knowledge of our products and services. I have worked really hard at acquiring some confidence in the knowledge I possess now to discuss their needs directly with them. I can definitely hold my own because I have knowledge and that’s the key to success.”
Kate - Marketing Communications Manager
“Inspiring inclusion means embracing diversity, recognising the unique strengths each individual brings, and creating spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and empowered to thrive no matter what their gender or background is.”
Margie - Machine Operator
“It is important to see everyone as an equal on a level playing field. In the warehouse, it is the little things that ‘Inspire Inclusion’ such as a simple g’day in the morning. The best way to see ‘Inspire Inclusion’ in action is having a strong team environment.”
