As a part of Steel-Line Garage Doors’ 40 years anniversary celebration, we are sharing stories about our staff members and their contributions to the company.
Let’s get to know one of our team members…
Name: Ali Troeger
Title: Office Administrator
Location: Brisbane Branch
I moved to Queensland from Adelaide and needed to find employment. There was a position available at Steel-Line, I applied and the rest is history!
How long have you been with Steel-Line? Any stories from back then you’d like to share with the team?
I have been with Steel-Line for 19 years. When I started we were based in Sumner Park but later that year our Darra site was built. There was a gala opening night and dress up party with a Hollywood theme. There were gold logies on all the tables. My husband Paul and I went as the Blues Brothers… it was a fantastic night!
What is the best thing that happened to you whilst working here?
Meeting lots of interesting people.
What motivates you to be successful your role?
Attention to detail because I’m at the front of the manufacturing process. Whatever I enter essentially gets made, right or wrong.
What would be your advice to anyone starting with the company?
Be kind and let’s all work together.
What motivates you day to day?
To solve the challenges that arise daily.
What do you do for fun / what are you passionate about?
Bike riding and live music.
Best holiday ever and why?
New Zealand South Island. We went on a helicopter ride, landed on snow and did a 3-hour hike on the glacier… it was exhilarating and spectacular.
If we looked at your google search history on your personal pc, what would we see?
Gig guides, bush walking trails, bike ride trails.
What is something no one at work would know about you?
I can’t think of anything….
Best advice anyone has given you?
If it’s worth doing something, it’s worth doing well.
